The Congregation of the Sisters of the Angels was founded in Vilnius on 31 March 1889 by Wincenty Kluczyński, Archbishop of Minsk-Mogilev.
The Congregation, whose members do not wear a religious habit, was founded to assist priests in spreading the faith, especially by entering settings inaccessible to a priest and proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ through word and example. Like the angels in heaven, the sisters are filled with God’s light and strength as they remain continually before Jesus hidden in the Eucharist. They also assist the “angels on earth” — priests.
The Congregation’s General House is in Poland, at 28/30 Broniewskiego Street, Konstancin-Jeziorna, near Warsaw.
The sisters work in Poland, Czechia, England, Rwanda, Congo, Cameroon, Lithuania, Belarus, russia and Ukraine. They serve as catechists, organists, sacristans, nurses, teachers and educators, and run after-school centres, kindergartens and a children’s home.
In Ukraine, the Congregation forms a delegation of 13 sisters. They work in Vinnytsia, Kamianets-Podilskyi and Zhytomyr.
The Holy Family Delegation house is in Vinnytsia, at 7 Tolbukhina Street.
