St John the Baptist Parish (Bila Tserkva)

About the parish

St John the Baptist Church, like many other buildings in the town, was funded by Count Franciszek Ksawery Branicki. Construction took four years and was completed in 1816. In 1930, the communist authorities confiscated and closed the church. Religious life began to revive only in 1985. By then, however, the church had been converted into an organ concert hall, which opened in 1990. The church has still not been returned to the Catholics.
