About the parish
Bykivka appears in documents from 1811 as Buda Bykivka, although it is considered to have been founded in 1871. Because its population was predominantly Polish, it belonged to the Marchlewsk Polish National District from 1929 to 1934. It has been an urban-type settlement since 1938. The local masonry Catholic church was built in 1990 through the efforts of Fr Stanislav Shyrokoradiuk OFM.
