Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish (Brovary)
Brovary · Patronal feast: 27 June
About the parish
Brovary first appears in documents dating to 1628. In 1802, it became a township centre in Oster County, Chernihiv Governorate, and in spring 1923, a district centre. It was granted city status in 1956 and now has more than 108,000 residents.
Historically, Brovary had no Catholic place of worship, so the masonry chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish was built only at the beginning of this century. Since 2005, the parish has been served by the Pauline Fathers, the Order of Saint Paul the First Hermit, assisted by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. On 12 July 2015, Archbishop Petro Malchuk, then Bishop of Kyiv-Zhytomyr, blessed the cornerstone of the Pauline church and monastery complex, whose construction continues to this day.
