Our Lady of Sorrows Parish (Nova Borova)

Nova Borova is considered to have been founded in the second half of the seventeenth century. According to another account, it developed from the hamlet of Fontanka, established beside the Fontanka River in 1887. Nova Borova became an urban-type settlement in 1954 and now has more than 5,500 residents.

In the late 1990s, the present masonry church and parish house were built in Nova Borova through the efforts of Fr Ryszard Szmist, a priest of the Diocese of Tarnów. The church was dedicated in 1995. The parish is served by diocesan priests.
